Domain Transfer - In


If you want to transfer your domain name management to Truepath (the Gaining Registrar)  from some other registrar (the Losing Registrar), you are at the right place.

Domain names that are expired but not deleted (up to 40 days past the expiry date, for most TLDs) can be transferred.

Preconditions to Transfer:

BEFORE A DOMAIN can be transferred to Truepath these criteria must be met:

1. Domain cannot be in Locked or Hold status.
2. Domain privacy must be turned off.
3. The email address for the Administrative Contact must be accessible by the registrant (owner).
4. The domain must have resided with the losing Registrar for more than 60 days since it was first registered or transferred there.

Note: A domain's nameservers cannot be changed during a Registrar transfer; the nameservers will remain the same during the transfer, and they can be changed once the domain has been successfully transferred.

 

Instructions on transferring a domain to Truepath that is currently hosted with another hosting provider follow.

  1. Login to your current domain registrar or web host and ensure your domain name is unlocked and privacy turned off.
  2. Login into your Truepath control panel.
  3. Click 'Add New Domain' under 'Domain Settings"
  4. Enter domain name under 'Transfer My Domain'.
  5. You will receive an email from Tucows or Opensrs on behalf of Truepath. The email will contain a link to a page that will have a form. Put in the domain you want to transfer and the transfer key that is included in the same email.

  6. Click on the "Retrieve Transfer Request" and a form will be displayed like the one below:

  8. Fill in the form. Select the first check box. Under Authorization Code, put in the authorization code (domain transfer key) that was provided by your current domain registrar (the place where you bought your domain). Finally, put in your phone number and click on "Submit Request".

  10. Truepath will authorize and process the transfer request as soon as it is received.  (Truepath support will process pending requests once the status of the transfer changes from 'pending owner approval' to 'pending registry approval' and finally to 'approved')

 

Please note that your email client may filter out the email regarding the transfer request.  Therefore, if you have not received the transfer email, please check your spam folder. If you still cannot find the transfer email, please feel free to call or email Truepath Support.
